Classic stuffed shells:
Ingredients:
- 1 box jumbo pasta shells
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- Additional mozzarella and Parmesan for topping
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to the package instructions. Make sure not to overcook them, as they will continue to cook in the oven. Drain and set aside.
- Preheat your oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, egg, chopped parsley, dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- Pour about 1 cup of marinara sauce into the bottom of a baking dish.
- Stuff each cooked pasta shell with the cheese mixture and place them in the baking dish.
- Once all the shells are filled, pour the remaining marinara sauce over the top. You can also sprinkle additional mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the shells are heated through and the cheese is melted.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
- Allow the stuffed shells to cool for a few minutes before serving.
