Recipe for stuffed artichokes:
Ingredients:
- Artichokes
- Bread crumbs
- Parmesan cheese
- Garlic
- Lemon juice
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper
- Herbs (such as parsley or thyme)
Instructions:
- Start by preparing the artichokes. Trim the stems and remove any tough outer leaves. Cut off the top third of each artichoke and use kitchen shears to trim the sharp tips from the remaining leaves.
- Steam the artichokes until the leaves can be easily pulled off, and the hearts are tender. This usually takes about 25-40 minutes, depending on the size of the artichokes.
- While the artichokes are steaming, prepare the stuffing. In a bowl, mix together bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, pepper, and your choice of herbs.
- Once the artichokes are done steaming, let them cool for a few minutes. Preheat your oven to 375Β°F (190Β°C).
- Gently spread open the leaves of each artichoke and remove the choke (the fuzzy part) using a spoon.
- Stuff the breadcrumb mixture between the leaves and in the center of each artichoke.
- Place the stuffed artichokes in a baking dish, drizzle with a bit more olive oil, and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the stuffing is golden brown.
- Serve the stuffed artichokes warm, and enjoy!
Feel free to customize the stuffing with your favorite ingredients to suit your taste. Some people like to add chopped herbs, sun-dried tomatoes, or even cooked sausage to the stuffing mixture for extra flavor.
