Ingredients:
- 4 ripe tomatoes, diced
- 1 small red onion, finely chopped
- 2-3 jalapeño peppers, seeded and finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice of 1 lime
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Prepare the vegetables: Dice the tomatoes and finely chop the red onion, jalapeño peppers, and cilantro. Mince the garlic.
- Mix everything together: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped onion, jalapeños, cilantro, and minced garlic.
- Add lime juice: Squeeze the juice of one lime over the mixture and stir to combine.
- Season: Add salt and pepper to taste. Start with a small amount, then adjust as needed.
- Let it rest: Allow the Pico de Gallo to sit for about 15 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
- Serve: Enjoy your fresh Pico de Gallo with tortilla chips, tacos, or as a topping for grilled meats!
Tips:
- For a spicier version, leave some seeds in the jalapeños.
