I love this recipe because I fool guests into thinking I slaved away for hours in the kitchen.
Must express something to keep getting my recipes… Thank you!
Ingredients:
- 4 large russet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Optional toppings: butter, sour cream, chives, shredded cheese, bacon bits
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C).
- Prepare the Potatoes: Scrub the potatoes under cold water to remove any dirt. Pat them dry with a towel. Using a fork, poke a few holes in each potato to allow steam to escape during baking.
- Season the Potatoes: Rub the potatoes with olive oil to coat them evenly. Sprinkle them with salt and pepper.
- Bake the Potatoes: Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the skins are crispy. You can check for doneness by inserting a fork into the center of the potato; it should slide in easily.
- Serve: Once done, remove the potatoes from the oven. Let them cool for a few minutes. Slice them open and fluff the insides with a fork. Add your favorite toppings and serve hot!
Topping Ideas:
- Butter and sour cream with a sprinkle of chives
- Shredded cheddar cheese and crispy bacon bits
- Steamed broccoli and melted cheese
- Chili and shredded cheese for a hearty option
Enjoy your perfectly baked potato!
